Vincent Clare was born in Birmingham, England in 1855. He was the son of the fruit and flower painter, George Clare and the brother of Oliver Clare, also a fruit and flower painter. All three members of the Clare family worked mainly in Birmingham and though painted similar subjects, each had their particular nuances in technique that after close inspection, become identifiable. Vincent's paintings often display a delicate and refined touch. Like his brother, Vincent exhibited at many prominent venues throughout England. |
