ALFRED WHEELER
British (1852-1932)

Alfred Wheeler was born near Bath, Somerset, England in 1852. He was a painter of hunt scenes and animals.

Alfred Wheeler was the son of John Alfred (Arnold) Wheeler. Both were highly regarded painters of hunt scenes and animals, especially horses.  Wheeler made a very lucrative living during his lifetime as a commissioned artist, painting the gentry's horses and dogs.

He was known to exhibit from time to time at the Royal Academy and other major venues but was kept busy painting the many commissions that came his way.

Today, Alfred Wheeler's horse portraits and hunt scenes are highly sought after and like his father's are considered being of very high quality.
