Amby Leblanc

Amby Leblanc is a Canadian artist born in Quebec in 1936. He was for many years a professional athlete.Being a professional athlete required that he traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Amby became fascinated by the splendor and variety of the North American landscape.  During these travels, he visited many art galleries and was inspired by the works of great artists.Amby Leblanc is a self taught plein-air painter who credits his development from information obtained through publications of such experts in the field as the late John Carlson, Emile Gruppe and by a chance encounter he had with Paul Strisik in Vermont.Leblanc has been painting for over twenty years.  For several of those years, he spent much time near Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City painting street scenes of Old Quebec as well as Peggy’s Cove and the fishing villages of Nova Scotia. He also often paints rural scenes near Mount Mansfield near the Vermont border. His impressionist rendition of apple blossoms and the Vermont scenes, marine paintings and street scenes can be found in numerous private and corporate collections in several countries.Leblanc is represented in art galleries in Atlantic Canada Québec, Ontario and Vermont and most recently, at the J.M.Stringer Gallery of Fine Art in Bernardsville, New Jersey. He has recently had a successful one man show in St-Hubert, Quebec.
