ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Ferdinand de Prins was born in Brecht, Belgium in 1859. He was a painter of landscapes, harbor scenes and animals. He was a student of decorative arts at the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts at the young age of thirteen. He also studied design and painting at the same Academy under the tutelage of such master teachers as E. Dujardin and J Van den Busshe, J Van Luppen and A Schoy.
De Prins painted in a very traditional and romantic style. He often painted scenes in Borgerhout, Deurne and Kontich, Belgium. He was a member of the art circle, "Eigen Vorming" in Borgenhout.
De Prins died in 1908.
