JULES LEINTREIN (BELGIAN, 1875-1943)

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Jules Leintrein was born in Schaerbeek, Belgium in 1875. He was a painter, watercolorist and lithographer. He created landscapes, portraits and, most importantly, genre and church scenes.

Leintrein began exhibiting as an entry artist in the noted Prix de Rome exposition in 1898.

From there he successfully exhibited at the important Belgian venues, as well as at La Bibliotheque and La Lithographie Belge Cotemporaine in Brussels in 1931. His works were also published in 1918 in the Cercle L'Effort.

He died in 1943.
