Viewers can seek refuge in the sanctuary of Luke Steadman’s art.  His work is quiet and contemplative, enveloped in atmosphere and mood.  It is the beauty and serenity of nature that is interpreted, as forms of rest and solitude appeal to him, symbolic of quiet and repose.  Steadman’s paintings are reflective of his own temperament, which is imparted to the canvas, and the picture becomes imbued with his poetic message.  Many of his collectors say what great pleasure and enjoyment they get from his work and that a person can’t help but “feel” upon viewing one of his paintings. "As an artist," says Steadman, "I want to reveal the unnoticed adventure underlying the routine of daily life.  Art is the means by which I attempt to awake others to this natural beauty.  My paintings are to be uplifting and a pleasure for the viewer to enjoy.  My work is focused upon the hope that my talent and acquired skills will provide for the viewer an exploration of the character, context, emotions and value that are contained within each painting."

Attracted at an early age to the elements of design, Steadman did not pursue his natural artistic aptitude until after high school.  In 2001, he enrolled at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida.  Graduating with honors in 2005, he was the recipient of numerous Ringling awards and two national awards. After graduation, he went on to study at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy.

Steadman is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists and an Associate Member of Oil Painters of America.  He currently resides in Vero Beach, Florida.
