R.S. MOSELEY (BRITISH, fl. 1862-1893)

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

R.S. Moseley was born in London, England sometime in the mid-1800s. He was a genre and animal painter and noted for his paintings of dogs and horses.

While there is not much information about his education and earlier life, it is noted that he exhibited actively from 1862 to 1893 at most of the important London venues, including the Royal Academy, The British Institute of Oil Painters and Suffolk Street. He also was kept quite busy with commissions.

R.S. Moseley died in 1912. Today, when his dog and horse paintings do appear, they are highly sought after.
