ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Ferdinand Knab was born on June 12, 1834 in Wurberg, Germany. He was a painter of landscapes and decorative paintings. He studied with the German master teachers, Ramberg, Kirchner and Piloty.

Knab traveled to Italy where he was named the Royal Court painter of the court of Louis II of Bavaria.

He also was hired to decorate the Royal Palace of Linderhoff and The Munich Winter Garden.

Knab died on November 3, 1902.
