ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Fritz Lange was born on June 24, 1851 in Düsseldorf, Germany. He was an animal painter as well as a landscape artist depicting animals, especially fowl.

Lange studied under the tutelage of his father, Johann Gustav Lange, and at the Dusseldorf Academy of Fine Arts. He began to exhibit at important German venues in 1870, at the young age of nineteen, and continued to do so throughout his lifetime.

 

Lange died on September 1, 1922 in Düsseldorf.

 

Today, his paintings can be found in private and public collections, including the Altenburg Museum, Düsseldorf and the Gorlitz Museum, Gorlitz, Germany.
